Hollywood Director Bruce Leddy responds to Kim Dotcom
Hollywood Director Bruce Leddy has written a response to Kim Dotcoms letter on the future of online content distribution. Kim Dotcom is the founder of file hosting website Megaupload, which was shut down by the FBI in January of this year.
Director Buce Leddy, known from ABC/TBS series ‘Cougar Town’, responded in a ludic manner, setting the same tone as in Dotcoms letter, but sarcastic: If Kim Dotcom can make a profit of others creation, then others should be able to profit from Dotcoms possessions as well. Therefore, Leddy proposes to sell Dotcoms luxurious cars on eBay.
The FBI arrested Kim Dotcom earlier this year for mass-scale copyright infringements in New Zealand. The actions by the FBI caused great turmoil within civil rights organizations and media. The debate about copyright infringements on file hosting services captivates both proponents and opponents of free online distribution.
Dotcom is currently under house arrest, awaiting a hearing in March in which will be decided whether he will be extradited for trial in the U.S.
