Leasweb, the largest hosting provider in The Netherlands, has received demands from a Bollywood producer to remove the movie Mr. Perfect, that is shared from a website of one of Leaseweb’s customers. The Indian movie maker has filed the case, in which 36 sites are summoned to stop sharing the movie, with the FBI.

Leasweb states not to take any action yet, as the company works according to the Dutch notice and take down procedure. This procedure states that rightsholders first need to make their demands known to the website that makes the infringing material available. Only when they do not answer the summons can rightsholders request the cooperation of the hosting provider.

The summons to Leaseweb was accompanied by a strong-worded press release. It the release, the alleged infringers that included, besides Leaseweb include Google and GoDaddy, the world’s largest domain name sellers, were named. Besides these conspicuous names the list featured many torrent sites, including usual suspects like the Pirate Bay and Isohunt. The press release threatens the admins with jail sentences and website blocking. How Cyber Eagles Legal Consultants, the firm that the movie producer contracted to handle the infringement, wants to carry out these threats is unclear.
