Free newspapers with new iPad application
There is a new iPad application on the market, called ‘Paperboy’. This kiosk app contains free digital newspapers from twelve European countries, which can be read on an iPad. For example, the Dutch newspapers Metro, Spits and De Pers can be read with this application.
Compared to other kiosk applications like AKO's MagWorld, the costumer doesn’t need an account to use this application. Also, these free newspapers can be read online and offline, and can be shared with friends. Furthermore, it is possible to open the newspapers in other installed applications on the iPad, such as iBooks, DropBox, Goodreader, Tablisto, Evernote or Adobe Reader.
All together, Paperboy seems to be a great new app. However, critics say Paperboy doesn’t entail a special reading mode for the newspapers, and there are no extra interactive features. Furthermore, they claim the loading of the pages proceeds very slowly.
