Adele’s album downloaded one million times in Europe
The world famous singer Adele is the first artist in Europe to have her album downloaded more than one million times on iTunes. Her album “21” was released on January 21, 2011 on iTunes, and eleven months later it has been downloaded over one million times.
Analysts call the record ‘a landmark for the digital sales of albums.’ Apparently there are plenty of people who are willing to download entire albums and, moreover, are even willing to pay for albums on iTunes. The iTunes music service is based on a legal business model, where the user downloads a song or album and in return pays a certain fee for it.
Previously, we wrote about Eminem, who managed to sell one million digital albums in the United States. Now, also Europeans seem to become more aware of the fact that the market of legal content is developing.
