Pathé starts partnership with Samsung to launch VOD-service

Previously, we mentioned that the Dutch cinema chain Pathé is starting a Video-On-Demand service. Pathé plans to offer the VOD-service firstly on pc’s and via Samsung. With Samsung, the cinema chain starts a big campaign. Not only will the VOD service be offered on connected TV, but also on Blu-ray players, home cinema systems and tablets.

Pathé announced plans to start partnerships with multiple parties and distributers, but that is scheduled for next year. In the first half of 2012, the cinema chain will work with Philips, LG and Sharp. Also, KPN, UPC and Ziggo are parties that Pathé wants to work with.
