Coca-Cola shows us a good example of a new online business model this week. The brand Coca-Cola Zero is now attached to games. Together with Sony, Coca-Cola started a new online game platform that was officially launched in the Netherlands yesterday. The platform is launched on MSN and contains news, reviews and trailers of games.

The Coke Zero Gaming Zone on MSN will be available in 9 European countries. To promote the Gaming Zone, Coca-Cola Zero and Sony PlayStation give away PlayStation 3 packages via the platform from September till November 2011. The companies also started the Gaming Experiential Tour. During this event the gamers can try out the latest PlayStation 3 games.

A Coca-Cola spokesman said MSN is an ideal medium to connect with consumers through an activity that they already like to do. “The fact that we can do this in so many countries makes this a large initiative. We’re proud of our privileged position. The natural link of gaming to our business motto – ‘making the impossible possible’ – makes this a perfect platform for Coke Zero. The Coke Zero Gaming Zone gives us and MSN the possibility to reach out to our public in the best way we can.
