While some bands are trying to counter copyright infringement, the U.S. punk band Blink-182 decided to reward fans that have uploaded clips without their consent on You Tube. The band made the clip called "Up all night" consisting of a compilation of unauthorized fan clips on YouTube. The band collected the images in cooperation with Internet service AT & T and has put the images together in a montage to launch their first new single in eight years.

Previously, on Future of Copyright you could read about other artists actively en cleverly responding to today’s digital society, such as Lady Gaga who invented a new social network site called Backplane. The band Blink-182 recognizes the importance of the internet and this is their creative way to connect with their fans. However, you could wonder if this is the right way, as in this case infringing copyright protected content seems to be encouraged in stead of countered.
