Spanish e-book service exports Spotify model to the Netherlands

The Spanish e-book service 24Symbols works roughly the same way as Spotify does. For a monthly fee, users van choose freely from an e-book library, also allowing books to be read offline. A free version gives access to a limited selection of e-books that can be read online and with interruptions for commercials.

24Symbols appears to look further than the Spanish speaking world. The library now holds three Dutch titles and some English titles, too.

The service is currently in beta but expects to roll out app across different platforms from the end of June.

24Symbols is not the only digital book store to explore this direction. Earlier, we wrote about the interest that Bol.com, the largest online book shop in the Netherlands, is interested in a similar model.
