“Amazon about to launch their own tablet computer”

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos hinted that his company will present its own tablet computer very soon. Mr. Bezos said this in an interview earlier this week, according to BGR.com. Bezos did not explicitly confirm the existance of the Amazon tablet, but did tell the press that there will be news about a tablet very shortly.

Considering the range of products and services that Amazon currently offers, it would be ideal for the company to launch their own tablet computer. They have an Android app store, a new streaming movie and TV show service, Cloud Drive, Cloud Player, the Amazon music and bookstore, Kindle. If Amazon manages to combine all this with their own tablet, they have a complete range of products available to meet the demands of the average tablet user and an excellent digital distribution hub for their merchandise in place.

Having a digital distribution channel is becoming increasingly important, as consumers buy less books or, conversely, purchase more digital works. The same goes for movies and TV series, of which physical carrier sales are declining.
