Videogame producer Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment has set up a European Mortal Kombat tournament. The gaming competition is a creative way to place the latest version of the classic Mortal Kombat game in the spotlights. In the Netherlands, there will be two qualifying rounds and a national final.

The new release in the epic Mortal Kombat series will be presented on April 21. Before the official presentation Warner is organizing a pre-launch tournament for the real fans. Many of them have been hooked to the -then controversial- game since it was first released in 1992. The new Mortal Kombat will appear on PlayStation3 and Xbox 360.

The winner of the Dutch competition will participate in the European Mortal Kombat-final in Birmingham, England and wins exclusive Mortal Kombat goodies. Warner has set up a flashy marketing campaign around this event, including announcements on Twitter and Facebook to promote the tournament.

The two preliminary rounds will take place on the 12th and 19th of March in Amsterdam and Almere. The Dutch finals will take place on April 2 in Bloemendaal.
