Second pay-what-you-want release of Wolfire Games: Humble Indie Bundle 2
"Is that a bundle launching or are you just happy to see me?" The earlier experiment of game developer Wolfire has apparently been successful. Following the issuance of four free games through the Humble Indie Bundle (HIB) in May this year, Wolfire now released the Humble Indie Bundle 2 three days ago. Since the launch of the HIB 2 Wolfire has earned over $ 800,000 in voluntary donations.
Unique to the HIB is not just that the game enthusiasts can indicate themselves whether they want to pay for the games, but also to whom he awards his contribution. If any donation is made, it can be divided among four parties: the developers of the free games, charities the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play and/or the Humble Bundle initiative itself.
The first edition of the HIB earned the games developers over one quarter million dollars in 24 hours and eventually nearly $ 1,270,000.
HIB2 includes the popular games Braid, Machinarium, Osmos and Cortex Command plus new release Revenge of the Titans. Via Humblebundle.com fans can register for the HIB2 and see the status of donations made by others.
Tip: Wolfire’s promo clip for the HIB 2 is quite insightful and amusing.
