Today, Dutch MEP Marietje Schaake (D66) invited the public to provide feedback on the draft text of a parliamentary motion about the controversial ACTA Treaty via a Twitter message.

Schaake's Tweet contains a link to an online and editable version of the motion's draft text, where everyone can make comments or submit adjustments.

Schaake sees Twitter as an excellent instrument for more democratic participation and accountability and calls on other politicians to make more use of the democratic potential of new technologies.
