Lily Allen to turn her back on music career

The British artist Lily Allen has lost hope of a fruitful conclusion of the file-sharing debate. “'If you can't sell your music, you can't go on. It's that simple.” The singer wrote on her blog. She closed her blog afterwards, because “the abuse was getting too much”, she writes on Twitter.

Miss Allen stops making music. She will not go on tour and will not record any more albums. In a world where piracy is more the rule than the exception, she sees no future as an artist. However, she will perform at the shows that have been booked already.

For starting artists, she writes, it is hardly possible to get rewarded for their hard work.

Miss Allen will now focus on an acting career. Recently, she had a guest appearance on Neighbours as herself. At the moment, she is working on a stage production called ‘Reasons to be pretty’.
