Singapore studies possibilities for a ‘three strikes' law
According to newspaper The Straits Times, Singapore is preparing legislation to terminate the Internet connection of frequent file sharers. The country is studying the feasibility of a law that is similar to three strikes legislation proposed in several other countries and implemented in South Korea.
Most countries, in which similar legislation was proposed, eventually chose not to implement. New Zealand, Great Britain and The Netherlands all chose against it. France is in the process of adopting their version after it was deemed unconstitutional by the highest court in France.
