YouTube removes Belgian music videos
Every once in a while, video’s pop up on YouTube that have been posted without consent of the rights holders. Sabam, a large Belgian copyrights organisation, was in discussion with YouTube about several tens of videos that potentially infringed copyright.
YouTube has now removed the videos on its own accord. In question are videos that have been posted by individuals and that contain songs of, amongst others, Jasper Erkens and dEUS. Sabam was not content with YouTube’s one-sided actions, revealed the organisation to Het Laatste Nieuws. “YouTube mustn’t try to shift the blame to us”.
