Dutch musicians and actors plead for home copy fee for MP3 players
The Dutch Minister of Justice froze the home copy system in 2008. The representative of performing artists, Norma, has calculated that artists have since then missed 25 million Euro in remuneration. The artists find this unacceptable and demand compensation as the current law is not enforced in a strucural manner.
A group of over 3500 artists has filed a petition in which thay plead for renewed enforcement of the home copy fee and an extension of it so MP3 players and hard disk recorders are also covered.
