Abba singer chastizes downloaders

In an interview with the Swedish online magazine Newsmill, Abba singer Björn Ulvaeus has strongly denounced illegal downloaders. The Swedish singer gave his opinion on the Pirate Bay trial currently underway in his home country. He was very upset that the prosecution had to drop half of the case due to a lack of proper evidence.

But it is the attitude of downloaders that really stings Ulvaeus. “It is easier and cheaper to steal music than to download it legally”. The Pirate Bay and other sites give consumers “the freedom to be lazy and mean” according to Ulvaeus.

The singer does not understand why consumers don’t pay for music. “Is it really so damned hard to understand? Is it really so damned hard to pay?”
