Youtube to license 25,000 indy songs

Youtube will be providing their users with access to over 25,000 licensed songs. Through a special application named Audio Swap the songs can be added to user-generated content.  The songs, all by independent artists, are made available by the Rumblefish music licensing organisation. Youtube sees the deal as an important step towards expanding their position as platform for premium user-generated content.
