UK launches major anti-piracy campaign

This week the largest ever collaboration on anti-piracy in the UK was officialy launched. The pilot initiative, involving the Metropolitan Police, the Motion Picture Association and the UK Film Council among others, aims to make London a "fake free zone" by 2012.

The campaign aims to educate local government, businesses, and consumers about the seriousness of piracy. In the two-weeks leading up tot the official launch, 39 arrests were made. Some 90,000 fake DVDs were seized along with credit cards and computers.
